Industrial gobo projection
Floor marking with light for warehouses and logistics
Projected lines, zones and symbols on the floor make walkways and hazard zones clearly visible. Without paint or tape that wears out, and easy to adapt when your layout changes.

How does floor marking with light work?
An industrial projector mounted on the ceiling or on racking projects a fixed image onto the floor: a line, a pedestrian crossing, a stop zone or a pictogram. The image appears on the floor, but forklifts and pedestrians can simply drive and walk over it without wearing it out.
Applications in logistics and manufacturing
- —Walkways and crossings for pedestrians
- —Stop and waiting zones at intersections and roller doors
- —Forklift traffic warnings
- —Marking loading and unloading zones
- —Pictograms for emergency exits, fire extinguishers or PPE zones
When is projection a good choice?
Light projection is particularly useful in high-traffic areas where paint and tape wear out quickly, or in environments where the layout changes regularly. It can also be a solution for floors you do not want to damage or that are cleaned frequently.
In areas with little traffic, plenty of daylight or a fixed layout, paint and tape are often simpler and more cost-effective. We assess this honestly for each situation.
Light projection, paint or tape?
Each solution has strengths and weaknesses. This overview helps you assess which is suitable.
| Criterion | Light projection | Paint | Tape |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wear | No wear on the marking itself | Wears out under heavy traffic | Peels off and wears out quickly under forklift traffic |
| Adjust | New gobo or different position | Repaint and clear the floor | Remove and reapply |
| Visibility | Very good in dark to normally lit halls, less effective in bright daylight | Good, depending on dirt build-up | Good as long as the tape remains intact |
| Installation | Mounting and power required | Floor must be dry and clear | Quick to apply |
| Costs | Higher purchase cost, little maintenance | Low purchase cost, recurring maintenance | Low purchase cost, frequent replacement |
Frequently asked questions
Is light projection always better than paint?
No. It depends on the traffic, the lighting in the facility and how often your layout changes. We advise on the most suitable solution for each zone.
Can I combine projection with existing markings?
Yes, many companies use projection in the busiest areas and keep paint or tape in other zones.
